Childsmile

We are an approved Childsmile practice - a programme designed to improve the dental health of children in Scotland. Primary care dental practice visits are available from 6 months when you will meet our Childsmile nurse Kirsty. She will give diet and tooth brushing advice and from Age 2 - 12  the application of Fluoride varnish two times per year. Fluoride varnish slows down the development of decay by stopping demineralisation.  The programme has now been extended up to Age 18 to ensure good oral health is maintained into adulthood.
Kirsty recently completed the Childsmile training  with NES - SQA at SCQF level 8 and 45 hours of CPD. Childsmile sessions are available in the practice from January 2024

For more information on the scheme visit their website at www.child-smile.org/

We recently undertook our CPR training with Tony Miller (employed with the Scottish Ambulance Service and A&E department at Inverclyde Royal Hospital). This was an excellent opportunity to practice our lifesaving skills on the resusianne dummies and included training with our defibrillator. We carry out this training on an annual basis along with decontamination training with the infection control nurses from Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board
